The royal family who reside within rule the surrounding lands, steadily growing their wealth through shrewd trade and careful diplomacy. Like the stag upon their coat of arms, they take up arms only when provoked. I love to look a lot at old and medival stuff to get inspired and then put in what I think works best and creates a believable world.
